The owner of the world’s biggest ocean liner caved in to demands by disgruntled passengers to give them a full refund after the cruise missed ports of call in the Caribbean because of mechanical problems.
But many were still upset as they got off the ship in Rio de Janeiro on Friday. “I’ve had probably the worst weeks of my life, all I did was see water!” said Stanley Shneldcki, 60, who says he paid $22,000 for the cruise aboard the British-flagged ship from New York, where he lives, to Los Angeles.
